What is the service?
This service covers all aspects of dealing with adults at risk. Adults at risk may be abused in a number of ways, within the same relationship, setting or incident and abuse may occur between vulnerable adults themselves. Abuse is a violation of an individual's civil and human rights by any person or persons and usually happens when there is an expectation of trust.
North Somerset Council has a statutory requirement as the lead agency for Safeguarding adults.
Who is this service for?
This service is for any adult over the age of 18 years who is living in North Somerset and:
- Who is felt to be at risk of abuse
- Where abuse is suspected
- Where abuse has been witnessed
- Where alleged abuse has been disclosed.

If you have concerns that someone is being abused or may be at risk of abuse contact Care Connect Tel No :- 01275 888 801 If you need help outside normal working hours please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 01454 615 165.
If a serious physical or sexual assault has taken place and the vulnerable adult is at immediate risk then the Police should be contacted on 999.
If it is believed that a criminal offence has taken place then the Police should be contacted on 0845 456 7000.
